Unscrupulous business practices

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - They won't honour advertised pricing.
  • - They charged from order approval, before shipping.
  • - They accessed my credit card and set up automatic payments.

They will not honour advertised promotional pricing that I signed up for. They will not escalate the issue to a higher level.

They began charging me from the moment the order was approved, prior to mailing out devices, let alone receiving them.

My employer info was incorrect, my home address was wrong. They accessed the credit card number I used to pay shipping charges and used this card to set up automatic payments prior to getting my permission to do so.

User's recommendation: stay away!

Terrible customer experience

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - I tried a Red Wireless corporate plan.
  • - Repeated info requests after confirmation; order canceled without notice; free shipping refused.

I tried to use red wireless to get a corporate plan. This was the worst customer experience i have ever had.

They kept emailing me for new information after I confirmed the order online.

I called them multiple times communicating the information they requested, only to receive more emails requesting the same information following the call. Finally, they communicated that the order was ok and was being processed, only to later learn that they needed more information and that they canceled the order without notification. After a month I asked them to provide free shipping ($25) given the inconvenience.

They refused and said they would not try to be accommodating given the circumstances. Absolute worst experience getting a phone.

I've waited more than a month and still no service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Avoid Red Wireless; they failed to provide a fast transfer or keep-your-number.
  • - No cell service for a month.
  • - Zoomer Wireless is closing on Dec 31, 2024.
Updated by user Dec 22, 2024

After spending more than a month waiting for any kind of service (phone service or customer service) and no data, I used the 'second thoughts' law to cancel the contract. Please!

Don't use this company.

It's not just me, look at their 2-star reviews. I would give them 0 stars but you have to give them a minimum of one to write a review.

Updated by user Dec 07, 2024

Finally, on Saturday, December 07 I went to my shopping street, bought two SIMs at the Telus store and we were ready to go in about half an hour versus more than a month of waiting for Red Wireless.

Original review Dec 07, 2024
Please, for your own sanity, do not under any circumstances, contact Red Wireless. I was a Zoomer Wireless customer and they are closing as of December 31, 2024.

Zoom suggested Red for a transfer as it would be fast, easy and you can keep your own number. Ding, ding, ding. They don't do that. They involve you in an endless Monty Python-esque skit of false communications and lies.

It's never an argument, just a contradiction. My wife and I have been without cell service for a month.

It seems they monitor this site, so expect them to try to pick holes in this review and use personal attacks. These people should not be in business.
Pros:
  • There are no stinking pros
  • Ha pros
Cons:
  • Just about the worst consumer experience imaginable

Preferred solution: Full refund

User's recommendation: RUN!

1. Switched from zoomer first week of Oct.

ordered phone for me and SIM card for my wife. Phone and SIM cards arrived first week of December and Rogers is charging us for Oct and Nov plus interest on a plan we couldn’t yet use. 2. Also my plan is being charged at a higher rate than the rate I signed for.

. The plan I signed for also included a phone.

But my invoices show a charge for the phone 3. Red wireless has been completely useless in solving issues.

Stay away from Red Wireless - DONT DO IT

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - They withhold information and bill before activation.
  • - They pass inquiries to Rogers, who was great.
  • - They hang up and ignore your side.

They only want your business and do not disclose the full information to you. Read the contract and take your time.

They start billing you even when the phone is not activated, and when you call to inquire, they pass it onto Rogers, who was great.

They are ruining the Rogers brand. Furthermore, they are hanging up the phone on you and do not even care about your side of the story.

User's recommendation: Go elsewhere!!!

They don't care about customer service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Planning changes take months and they won't reply if you're not Indian.
  • - Indian customers get fast changes; white customers are ignored.

I've been trying to change my plan for months now. They don't care if you are not Indian.

You won't get a reply. They don't care about you. If you are white, don't bother calling them. They won't answer.

If you're Indian, they will absolutely love you and you'll get your plan changed in about a couple of days. Only call Red Wireless if you are Indian.

If you are white, they will treat you like garbage and they won't do anything. They won't help with anything.

Preferred solution: Apology

User's recommendation: Be indian

Terrible Customer Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
AI Highlights
  • - Ordered a phone from RedWireless; $40 reservation fee listed as $45, then $44.
  • - Device not arrived; five days with no updates from support; cancel with Roger.

I placed an order for a new phone on the RedWireless website. Initially, they sent me an email indicating a $40 reservation fee, but subsequently, they charged me $45, followed by an additional charge of $44.

Unfortunately, I have yet to receive the device I ordered. Over the past five days, I have been trying to contact them without success, making it impossible for me to get any updates regarding the status of my device.

I am now uncertain about the whereabouts of my order and would like to cancel it and discontinue my association with Roger. However, I am encountering difficulties reaching their customer support for assistance.

Pros:
  • Discount
Cons:
  • Customer service
